Gameday Content

  • Take clips directly from the broadcast to quickturn game highlights for social.

  • In the event of a huge play a card runner could bring a card to an editor sitting next to the Miller Lite Club fieldside to pull a highlight for the social team to post.

Specialized Videos

For various social outlets. With select 16x9 videos to live on the website if desired. Posting schedule at discretion of DCTFB staff.

Super Slow Mo

TOTAL RUNTIME 7:27

This video was shot at roughly 400 frames per second. A similar camera would cost roughly $950 in order to rent per day, but since it is a weekend, rental houses charge one day for Friday through Monday.

Cinema Recap

TOTAL RUNTIME 5:42

Example from our coverage of the 2024 FCS National Championship. Used broadcast footage and three camera operators. I suggest allocating the camera operators differently than the NCAA required us to be on this and using lenses with more range and giving the roaming cam access to get soundbites on the benches for a more dynamic story.

Roof Cam

By safely attaching a camera to the catwalk we could achieve the infinite loop highlight seen below on the left. With a camera operator we could achieve the locked on highlight seen at bottom right.

Sideline Sounds

Standalone video. Relevant moments can also be added to Cinema Recap

Mic’d Up

Follow a legendary coach or a top recruit on their pursuit of greatness. This can be accomplished using broadcast feed and a dedicated camera in the stands. Sideline camera operators would gather beauty shots in game for transitions and additional angles on big plays.

This can be used as a standalone piece for Youtube, TikTok, and Instagram as well as adding a few of the best moments to the Cinema Recap.

New Fans Mic’d Up

Invite a DFW athlete to be mic’d up as they experience a state game with 40,000 people for the first time.

Feature

Characterized by great storytelling, second to none sound design, and finding beautiful imagery in the everyday. Immerse the audience in a story. For inspiration, think Last Chance U, Cheer, and America’s Sweethearts.

Follow a superfan that works at the school, a player that has overcome the odds, or an entire time that shuts down for the weekend to cheer on their school in Arlington.

Zoom In Zoom Out

The scale of AT&T stadium is impressive in and of itself. Showcase a packed NFL stadium for a high school game by mic’ing up a parent watching their son, a younger sibling watching their brother, a beloved teacher watching their student, or a local professional athlete or legend of the game taking in the action in a one of a kind atmosphere for high school football.

Launch Promo Shot on Film

As DCTFB enters into the video storytelling space we pay an homage to the reliability of over six decades of covering the 1400 plus high schools in Texas by capturing a marquee matchup on film. This promo combines the past and the present with a voiceover from a legendary Texas High School player from the past as well as a current student or very recent graduate. Cut back and forth between film highlights and a physical film projector in a coach’s office showing highlights with streaks of light illuminating the office.

We find ourselves at a unique time were film is both nostalgic and en vogue–much like the same great storytelling of DCTFB print and web can overlap with beautiful imagery embedded into the page in a new age of a publication that has stood the test of time.

Additionally, behind the scenes of shooting on film can be utilized for a YouTube video as well as individual clips being used on social.
